Former hockey player SKA And “Avant-garde” Czech national team striker Roman Chervenka recognized as player of the year by the International Hockey Federation, reports the IIHF press service.
Lukas Dostal (Czech Republic), Kevin Fiala (Switzerland), Roman Josi (Switzerland), Erik Karlsson (Sweden) and John Tavares (Canada) were also in the running for this award in 2024.
Cervenka, 38, helped the Czech team win gold medals at the world championships on home soil. He became the sixth most productive player of the tournament with 11 (3+8) points. Additionally, Cervenka scored 40 points (12+28) in 47 matches for Rapperswil (Switzerland).
In 2015, he won the Gagarin Cup with SKA.
