Attack Matvei Mishkov leaves St. Petersburg SKA and will join the NHL club during the offseason Philadelphia Flyers the press service of the Russian club reported.
The rights of the 19-year-old KHL hockey player are assigned to the St. Petersburg club.
“The military team thanks Matvey for the years spent in the club system and wishes him success in his future career,” SKA said in a statement.
Michkov was selected by the Flyers in the first round, 7th overall, in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Last season he scored 41 points (19+22) in 47 matches for Sochi, where he played on loan. In total, Michkov played 91 games in the KHL for SKA and Sochi, scoring 66 points (30 goals and 36 assists).
Earlier, reported that SKA will terminate the contract with Michkov on Tuesday, retaining sports rights for him in the KHL, and the player will continue his career in Philadelphia.
