Athletistic / Hockey. International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) President Luc Tardif has reacted to the inclusion of legendary Russian hockey player Pavel Datsyuk in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. The IIHF has nothing to do with this procedure.

“There is no doubt that Datsyuk is a fantastic player and one day he will enter the IIHF Hall of Fame. But I don’t think Pavel’s entry in 2025 at the World Championships in Sweden and in Denmark is likely”, quotes TASS. .

Pavel Datsyuk played for the Detroit Red Wings for 15 years, from 2001 to 2016. With his team, he won the Stanley Cup twice and the President Cup four times, awarded for winning the NHL regular season. As part of the Russian national team, Datsyuk became an Olympic champion (Pyeongchang 2018) and a world champion (2012).

The 2024 Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on November 11. Pavel Datsyuk became the first Russian since 2018 to enter the Hall of Fame. Six years ago, Alexander Yakushev received this honor.
