– After the story with Ivan Fedotov, young players are afraid to enter the army. How did you serve in your time?
“When I was 17, Dynamo ripped me off Traktor for a bag of clubs. I remember how I came to the local FSB and received documents there for going to the border guard school. So I came to Dynamo without any compensation for Traktor. That’s how it was back then. We were twelve there – Sergey Gonchar, Igor Bakhmutov, Vitya Kozlov, Lesha Yashin. It was our whole sporting enterprise. And everyone got into Dynamo for free. Then the Moscow club debugged a scheme according to which it was possible to collect promising young people from all over the country without any effort – simply by offering the guys to serve two years at the Golitsinsky school.
25 year old goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov , who signed with Philadelphia in May, was detained in St. Petersburg on suspicion of escaping military service. He was taken to Severodvinsk, where he is expected to take the military oath in August.
