Athletistic/Hockey. The Sports Ministry has approved the return of the limit of five foreign players to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The corresponding order was published on the online legal information portal.

“The total number of athletes who do not have the right to play for Russian national teams and who are registered by a Russian club for the KHL championship match in accordance with the regulations of such sports competition should not exceed 5, of whom not more than one goalkeeper,” the order states.

The 2023/2024 season was the first in which the limit for foreign hockey players was set at three people.
