Goalie “Ak Barsa” Arthur Akhtiamov next week will arrive at the location of the National Hockey League club (NHL ) “Toronto” reports the Toronto Sun, citing the hockey player’s agent Dan Milstein.
The 22-year-old goaltender is expected to play in the AHL for the Toronto Marlies.
Akhtyamov was selected by the Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. In the summer of 2023, the Russian signed a three-year, two-way entry-level contract with Toronto.
The goaltender was named best goaltender of the 2023/2024 season in the VHL. Akhtyamov has 16 wins in 31 matches, reflecting a 93.2% shooting average.
