Defender of Minsk “Dynamo” Alexei Emelin in an interview with , he opened up about the details of his transition to the Belarusian club.

In July, defender Alexei Yemelin signed a contract with Dynamo Minsk. The 36-year-old hockey player’s deal with the Belarusian club is designed for one season.

– Why did you choose Dynamo Minsk?

– Yes, I just received an offer, and I accepted it.

— It is an extravagant decision in your status.

– We have spoken with many clubs, but haven’t reached the details. And with Minsk, we quickly solved all the problems.

– You didn’t want to fly to Omsk?

– So after all, Avangard didn’t make an offer. At first I waited, but nothing came. And after that, I started considering other options.

“And Omsk?”

– If Avangard signed me, I wouldn’t be against Omsk.

– They just said that Emelin didn’t want to go to Siberia for family reasons.

‘I don’t know where it comes from that I want to stay in Moscow. There was no such thing.

– Did you have a conversation with the management of Avangard? You are the captain. Why were they upset?

– There was no conversation. I was fired for the work and we parted ways.

Since 2018, Emelin has been playing for Avangard Omsk, with whom he won the Gagarin Cup in the 2020/21 season. Previously, he also won the main KHL trophy twice, as a player of Ak Bars Kazan.

In the KHL, he played a total of 427 games, scored 125 points (39 goals and 86 assists). In the regular NHL championships in the “Nashville” and “Montreal” he played 456 games, scored 81 points (15 + 66).
