Earlier, Datsyuk announced that he is a development coach at Avtomobilist from Yekaterinburg. On Wednesday, he announced his retirement from hockey.
– To achieve the maximum, you must do what you love. I like working with the guys. I like that: passing on my experience and knowledge. Do the same as our coaches and teachers. They passed on to us everything they know. There is only one goal: for the guys to get into the KHL. We will prepare them and give all our strength so that they join the Russian national team. But it all depends on them. These are small goals, I will not talk about the big ones, so that they definitely come true, ”reports the correspondent of , reporting Datsyuk’s words.
Datsyuk is 45 years old and won the Stanley Cup twice with Detroit. He is an honorary member of the Triple Gold Club. Avtomobilist, for which the hockey player played from 2019 to 2021, became the last club in the striker’s career. Datsyuk also played for Ak Bars Kazan, SKA Saint Petersburg, CSKA Moscow and Dynamo.
