Athletistic / Hockey. Washington Capitals rookie forward Pierre-Luc Dubois shared his emotions about playing on the same team as Alexander Ovechkin. The 26-year-old Canadian was traded to the Capitals by the Los Angeles Kings last week.
“Having the opportunity to play with the best scorer of a generation and hopefully soon the best scorer in NHL history is just crazy. I’m sure being able to help him in a moment like this, being with him, is something incredible, not only in my career, but also throughout my life,” Dubois was quoted as saying by the Washington press service.
In 82 games in the NHL last season, Pierre-Luc Dubois scored 40 points (16+24) for his performance. “Washington” got a center forward on the first two lines. Note that last season, the Swede Niklas Backström suspended his career due to injury, and the Russian Evgeny Kuznetsov went to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Alexander Ovechkin has been playing for Washington since 2005. Currently, he has scored 853 regular season goals in the NHL and is the second-ranked sniper in the history of the league. The 38-year-old Russian is 41 shots away from Wayne Gretzky’s record.
