Athletistic/Hockey. Two-time Olympic champion Alexander Kozhevnikov appreciated the transfer of forward Matvey Michkov to the Philadelphia Flyers.

“I think he was in too much of a hurry. He has a strong desire to play in the NHL, but it’s possible his agents convinced him to leave. Let’s see what he can do. God grant that everything works out for him. Of course, he left too soon. Yes, the guy is talented, but not always stable.

Would it be better to stay in the SKA system? I don’t know what he feels. It’s clear that he has character, since he decided to move. But I have doubts about his decision. He certainly won’t win the competition right away. Of course they will help him, but I think he will be sent to a farm club first. He is a talented guy, but you need to practice the game anyway,” Kozhevnikov said in an interview with Metaratings.ru.

Michkov was selected by the Flyers in the first round, seventh overall, in the 2023 NHL Draft. During the completed KHL season, he played on loan for Sochi, playing 47 matches in the regular season and scoring 41 points (19+22).
