Nikita Kucherov will not fly to Russia this year, coach Kurdin says

Children’s coach Gennady Kurdin told that his pupil Nikita Koucherov will no longer travel to Russia this summer.

The hockey player was born in Maykop; Since 2013, the Russian has played for the NHL club, the Tampa Bay Lightning. Last season, Kucherov won the Art Ross Trophy awarded to the top scorer in the NHL regular season (44 goals + 100 assists in 81 games).

— You were going to organize a match of your graduates in Moscow this summer, and Nikita Kucherov, Nikita Gusev, Igor Ozhiganov and others would play there. Is this idea still valid?

– Unfortunately, no. Kucherov will not come to Russia this year. His mother-in-law flew for him for 30 hours, he says: “Well, where can I fly with small children for 30 hours with transfers?” I just did not dare to take this step.

“We have abandoned the idea of the match. This year it didn’t work out. Let’s leave it until better times,” Kurdin told .

Kucherov last visited Russia in 2021, when he competed for the Stanley Cup at the Polar Bears children’s school, from which he graduated.
