SKA forward Ivan Demidov shared his emotions after the 2024 National Hockey League (NHL) Draft.
Four Russians were selected in the first round of the NHL rookie draft. SKA-1946 forward Demidov was selected fifth overall by the Montreal Canadiens.
— These are unforgettable emotions for any player who started working as a child. Now my dream has come true. When my name was announced, I was overwhelmed with emotion. Almost my entire family was by my side. Of course, I knew who Celine Dion was, who had announced me from the stage.
I had an interview with Montreal the day before the draft and we had a very good conversation. We can say that we have a very good connection,” reports correspondent Demidov.
Last season, Demidov played for SKA-1946 (MHL), where he scored 88 (34+54) points in 47 games, including the playoffs, and won the Kharlamov Cup.
