Six Russian players were selected in the second and third rounds of the 2024 National Hockey League (NHL) Draft.
In the second round, San Jose selected Dynamo Moscow forward Igor Chernyshov (33rd overall), the Colorado Avalanche – Metallurg Magnitogorsk goaltender Ilya Nabokov (38), the New Jersey Devils – goaltender Mikhail Egorov (49), who played for the Omaha Lancers in the USHL, and the Carolina Hurricanes – Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod forward Nikita Artamonov (50).
In the third round, the Calgary Flames drafted AKM (Tula) goalie Kirill Zarubin with the 84th pick, and the Florida Panthers drafted CSKA Moscow defenseman Matvey Shuravin (97).
A day earlier, in the first round of the NHL, clubs had selected four Russian hockey players.
