NHL clubs select 27 Russians in 2024 draft

NHL clubs have completed their selection of hockey players for the 2024 draft, with 27 Russian players recognizing their teams at a ceremony in Las Vegas.

In the fifth round, Colorado selected Omsk Hawks goaltender Ivan Yunin (137), Toronto selected Mammoth Ugra forward Alexander Plesovskikh (152) and Red Army goaltender Timofey Obvintsev (157).

In the sixth round, Carolina selected defender Timur Kol (168) from Avangard, defender Roman Shokhrin (184, Lokomotiv) and forward from the Moscow region “captain” Fedor Avramov (188). Florida chose Stepan Gorbunov (169, Traktor) and Philadelphia chose Ilya Pautov (173, CSKA).
