Athletistic/Hockey. Olympic champion and Stanley Cup winner Valery Kamensky told Match TV that Russian hockey is moving in the right direction.

In the last NHL draft, clubs selected 27 Russians, which is the best result in the last three years. In 2021, NHL teams selected 29 Russian players.

“It suggests that our hockey is moving in the right direction. The kids are growing and are in high demand. That makes me happy, we have to continue to develop the kids, try to make the guys become high-level players.

I like that our players are interested in the sport. This once again emphasizes that without the national teams of Russia and Belarus, all international hockey tournaments are incomplete,” Kamensky told Match TV.
