Nashville re-signs goaltender Saros for nearly $62 million

Nashville » extended the contract with the main goalkeeper Juuse Saros reports the NHL club’s press service.

The new deal is for eight years and the salary will be $7.74 million per year. In total, the 29-year-old Finn will earn $61.92 million. The new deal will come into effect from the 2025/26 season.

Attack Teuvo Teräväinen returned to Chicago after eight seasons in Carolina. The 29-year-old Finn signed a three-year contract with the Blackhawks with a cap hit of $5.4 million.

Additionally, forward Reilly Smith was traded to the Pittsburgh Rangers. The Pennsylvania team received two draft picks as compensation – a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft and a conditional second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.

In addition, Pittsburgh retained 25 percent of the hockey player’s salary in its payroll. The current contract of Reilly Smith, 33, with a salary of $5 million per year, runs until the end of the 2024/25 season.
