Canadian Jessica Campbell becomes assistant head coach “Seattle Kraken” Dan Bylsma, according to the NHL club’s website.
Campbell, 32, is the first woman to join an NHL team’s coaching staff. She previously worked with the German men’s national team and was also on Bylsma’s staff with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Seattle’s AHL affiliate.
“I’m sure Jessica will do a lot for the office and benefit the players. I’ve seen her build strong relationships with top prospects like Ty Carty, Shane Wright and Ryker Evans. She knows how to communicate with them, talk about their game and what they bring to the team,” Bylsma said.
Seattle failed to reach the NHL playoffs in the 2023/24 season.
