Athletistic / Hockey. Defender Christian Jaros has returned to CSKA. The 28-year-old Slovak has signed a one-year contract with the Moscow club.
Christian Yarosh has already played for CSKA in the 2022/2023 season and helped the military team win the Gagarin Cup in 2023.
In the 2023/2024 season, Yarosh played for Severstal. In the Cherepovets team, the Slovak scored 18 (3+15) points in the “goal+assist” system in 31 games of the KHL regular season. In three playoff games, he scored one goal.
Christian Jarosz graduated from the Kosice hockey school. In 2013, he moved to Sweden, where he played for four years in the Luleå hockey club system. In 2017, he moved to North America and started performing in the Ottawa Centars system. In January 2021, the Slovak was traded to the San Jose Sharks and before returning to Europe, he played for the New Jersey Devils. He has 94 NHL games and 14 (1+13) points.
In the summer of 2022, Christian Yarosh moved to Russia and signed a contract with Avangard Omsk. In total, Yarosh has 84 matches and 31 (7+24) goals in the KHL.
It is worth noting that the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) imposed sanctions against CSKA because of goaltender Ivan Fedotov, who at that time had a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, playing for the military team in the 2023/2024 season. However, the KHL is not directly subject to the IIHF rules and therefore registered Christian Jaros’ contract with the army team.
