Beginner “Detroit” Russian Vladimir Tarasenko said moving to the Red Wings is the best decision to continue his career in the National Hockey League (NHL).
In early July, Tarasenko, 32, signed a two-year deal with Detroit.
— I talked to a lot of current Detroit players. I really liked how the team did last season. I consulted with my family and we decided this was the best option for me to continue my career. I can’t wait for training camp to start. There are a lot of guys I know here who I played with in St. Louis, they all had nothing but good things to say about the Red Wings.
“I’m not the kind of person who comes to the team just to relax, I will do everything possible to help Detroit win the Stanley Cup. I believe that the team can reach the playoffs. Last season it was already close to it,” Tarasenko said in an interview with the club’s press service.
Last season, Tarasenko won the Stanley Cup with Florida.
