Russian defender Nikita Zadorov said he decided to move to Boston because he wanted the best chance to win the Stanley Cup.
Zadorov signed a six-year, $30 million contract with the Bruins on July 1. On average, Zadorov will earn $5 million per season.
“I want to have the best chance to win the championship.” I put my all into what I do. “I signed a six-year contract and I want to put all my strength and heart into representing Boston and trying to win the Stanley Cup,” Zadorov told the NHL press service.
Last season, the Russian reached the semifinals of the NHL Western Conference playoffs with Vancouver, where the team lost to Edmonton in the series (3-4). In the playoffs, Zadorov participated in 13 games in which he recorded four goals and four assists.
