The Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) said it would consider the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL)’s proposal to terminate the agreement on the delegation of rights to host national championships.
Earlier, the KHL sent a letter to the FHR with a proposal to terminate the agreement on the delegation of rights to host the national hockey championships between men’s and women’s teams and the Russian hockey championship among juniors under 21 on terms previously agreed with the FHR.
— These delegation of rights agreements are valid until the end of April 2025. KHL’s proposal will be examined by the FHR Board of Directors.
We note that the draft law No. 622018-8, adopted in the third reading by the State Duma of the Russian Federation, “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation” and Article 3 of the Federal Law “On the Public Law Company “Unified Gambling Regulator” and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation, “permits the formation in Russia of sports leagues that organize competitions independently of the federations of their sport,” the KHL said in a statement.
