According to the official, the KHL is gaining independence from the FHR and the IIHF. From now on, the league will interact directly with the Russian Ministry of Sports. In particular, it will submit applications for the inclusion of the KHL and MHL in a single calendar plan.
It is worth noting that the KHL will release players to participate in the Olympic Games and World Championships. The league will also maintain a break for the Channel One Cup.
