Defender “Ak Barsa” Nikita Evseev will play in the club, despite the fact that he was sent to the VHL, explains agent Shumi Babaev, who represents the interests of the hockey player.
Earlier it became known that the Kazan club sent the player to the VHL Neftyanik team (Almetyevsk). In the 2023/24 season, Babaev filed an application with the KHL to terminate the hockey player’s contract with Ak Bars under the article “sports discrimination”. Then the KHL refused to terminate the contract.
— Evseev has a two-way contract. He leaves on July 15 with the VHL team, then joins Ak Bars. This is completely normal, everything is in accordance with the regulations.
— So the situation from last season will not happen again?
— I don’t see any problems yet. I think that Ak Bars head coach Anvar Gatiyatulin will let him play,” Babaev told RB Sport.
Last season, Evseev made 19 appearances for Ak Bars and scored three points.
The new KHL season starts on September 3.
