Kazakh “Barys » on the website announced the signing of a contract with the Swedish goalkeeper Johan Mattsson .
The agreement with the 32-year-old goalkeeper runs until May 31, 2025.
— After the termination of the contract with Edward Pasquale, we had a vacancy, for which we took an experienced goalkeeper who was suitable for our league. Mattsson was the first group of quite strong teams in the KHL. He will strengthen our goalkeeping line, – said Barys general director Oleg Bolyakin.
Mattsson played in the KHL for Dynamo Riga, Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg and SKA Saint Petersburg. As part of Roman Rotenberg’s team, he won five games in 12 regular season games with a 2.40 reliability rating and 91.7% of shots taken.
