Russia’s top coach Yuri Novikov shared his thoughts on Carolina forward Evgeny Kuznetsov’s future in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Earlier, “Championship” reported that Kuznetsov would return to Russia and sign a contract with SKA St. Petersburg. The player’s agent Shumi Babaev, in a conversation with , confirmed the interest of the St. Petersburg club in his client.
“I would like him to find the strength to stay in the NHL, so that he can prove his right to leave his mark there. But Zhenya arouses intrigue. For what purpose will he make his decision? To earn money and find peace of mind or to try to climb Everest further? He is a talented guy from the working-class district of ChTZ. He glorifies our country,” RB Sport quotes Novikov.
Kuznetsov is a Stanley Cup winner and two-time world champion. In March 2024, the 32-year-old forward was traded from Washington to Carolina.
