Vice-President of the KHL Valery Kamensky reacted positively to the possible transfer of the Carolina center forward Evgenia Kuznetsova in SKA.
Earlier it became known that Carolina had submitted Kuznetsov to an unconditional waiver draft. “Championship” reported that the forward would sign a four-year contract with St. Petersburg SKA .
— For Evgeniy, is a transfer to SKA a step backward?
– Why the step back? It was his decision, he had a great career in the NHL. We should welcome him home. It’s good for the league and the club. Here, he will pass on his experience to the youngsters. It’s purely his desire, he won the Cup abroad, why not come back now?
— Is it too early to leave the NHL? He’s only 32.
– I repeat, it is his decision. He is a professional and he knows what to do. He wants to finish his career in Russia.
— Will he strengthen the SKA?
“The team always wins.” Of course, he is a player who knows how to help the team win,” Kamensky said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
Before moving to Carolina, Kuznetsov played for Washington, where he won the Stanley Cup.
