Athletistic / Hockey. Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin shared his thoughts on the US election race. He also commented on the assassination attempt against US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“How did I react to the assassination attempt? Well, stupidity, I don’t understand how you can kill a person, even if you hate him (Trump. – Note Athletistic) remained alive.
“I wasn’t trying to reach out to Trump or support him in any way. I’m here now, until I get there…” Ovechkin answered the question in an interview with blogger Amiran Sardarov on his YouTube channel.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on the night of July 14. The politician miraculously survived. His health is now out of danger.
Note that Ovechkin knows Trump personally – after Washington’s Stanley Cup victory in 2018, the capital’s team visited the White House, and Alexander managed to communicate separately with the politician.
