Athletistic/Hockey. Russian forward and Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin has shared his thoughts on the possibility of becoming Russia’s sports minister after finishing his playing career.

— Do you have a chance to become the Minister of Sports of Russia?

– Not for the moment.

– But is such a perspective possible?

— You have to learn to be a Minister of Sports.

– Would that interest you? For example, Fedor Emelianenko chose to do what was close to him rather than work in the office.

— That’s right, we need to share our experience, work with children, tell, show… At the moment I can’t say whether I’m ready and want to become the Minister of Sports. It’s hard work, not seeing my family anymore, constantly traveling. I don’t know. We’ll see, wait and see,” Ovechkin said in an interview on Amiran Sardarov’s YouTube channel.
