Athletistic / Hockey. Hockey agent Shumi Babaev, representing the interests of forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, said that two KHL clubs are now competing for his client. On July 18, the 32-year-old Russian terminated his contract with the Carolina Hurricanes and became an unrestricted free agent in the NHL.
“Zhenya will soon fly to Russia. I hope that this will happen by the end of the week, after which we will begin to slowly resolve all these issues. As for the clubs competing for him, I have a list of two candidates,” TASS quotes Babaev as saying.
Evgeny Kuznetsov graduated from Chelyabinsk Traktor. In 251 games for his hometown club, the forward scored 167 (78+89) points using the goal+assist system. Kuznetsov has been playing in the NHL since March 2014. He was a player of the Washington Capitals for 10 years, but he finished the 2023/2024 season in Carolina. Note that since 2017, the rights to him in the KHL belong to SKA St. Petersburg.
