Athletistic / Hockey. Washington Capitals captain and forward Alexander Ovechkin spoke about his sentimentality. A 38-year-old Russian recalls the last time he cried.
“I’m not a very sentimental person. The last time I cried was when my father died. Well, then… And so, of course, when the film is on, but you understand…
Am I not ashamed of this in front of my wife? No, what’s wrong with that? You didn’t do it on purpose, you just watched the movie attentively, and then at some point you started crying… Are you crying? No, everything is fine! (Smiles.)“, Ovechkin said in a conversation with popular blogger Amiran Sardarov on his YouTube channel.
On February 15, 2023, Alexander Ovechkin announced on his social media page that his father had passed away after a long illness. Ovechkin was 71 years old. Washington management had previously allowed Alexander to leave the team and miss two weeks of the NHL regular season for family reasons.
