Hockey agent Alexander Chernykh, representing the interests of the striker Nikita Gusev answered the question of whether the hockey player would try his hand at NHL .
Based on the results of the 2023/24 season, Gusev was recognized as the most valuable hockey player of the KHL regular season. The forward scored 89 points (23 goals and 66 assists) in 68 regular season games for Dynamo Moscow and 10 (3+7) points in 9 playoff games. Previously, Olympic champion Gusev played in the NHL for New Jersey and Florida.
— Is the information true that Nikita Gusev will return to Russia only in November-December?
“Neither I, nor Yuri Nikolaev, nor other representatives of our agency discussed November with Nikita. We talked at the end of July.
— Are there any agreements with Dynamo?
— We know that the training camp starts in August, so the end of July is the period when we will talk with Nikita and immediately after that with Dynamo. Basically, we have time to do everything.
— Will Gusev stay in the KHL? Or will he still try to play in the NHL?
“I’m not saying that he won’t try out for the NHL. If clubs from North America offer something, Nikita will make a decision and tell us. Then we will communicate with Dynamo,” Chernykh told RB Sport.
Since May 1, the striker has had unrestricted free agent status.
