Athletistic / Hockey. Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky shared his opinion on the possible participation of the Russian national hockey team at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. He assessed what the national team would be capable of at this tournament.
“It is difficult for me to say now what the Russian team will be capable of after returning to international competitions. I believe that at the Olympics our team will compete for the top three. In any case, it is capable of it. that soon we will see Russia again at major international competitions and I would like to play for the national team,” Bobrovsky quotes Izvestia.
The Russian national team has not participated in tournaments under the auspices of the IIHF since March 2022. The Russians will permanently miss the entire 2024/2025 international season, including the 2025 World Cup in Sweden and Denmark.
Sergei Bobrovsky participated in the 2014 Sochi Olympics. At that tournament, he played two matches as a substitute for Semyon Varlamov. Bobrovsky is a world champion in hockey. In 2024, he helped Florida win the Stanley Cup for the first time in its history.
