“Dynamo has its own opinion on the development of the situation.” Zherdev on the Minsk club’s decision not to sign a contract with him

russian striker Nikolai Zherdev in conversation withChampionship commented on Minsk’s decision “Dynamo” do not contract with him.

The hockey player was in the team with a viewing contract, but no full agreement was reached with him. As a result, Zherdev became a Minsk Youth player.

— I want to say thank you to Dynamo Minsk, who invited me to a viewing contract. This is a good team, a worthy and combat-ready team has been assembled in the capital of Belarus. It was a pleasure to work there. But I didn’t get a full contract, then I got a new option.

Apparently, today the coaching staff and management had their own take on how the situation was developing. Therefore, I did not go to the pre-season tournament in Sochi, although I had originally planned it. Craig Woodcroft (Dynamo head coach – editor’s note) and I had a good conversation, there was communication and contact with him all the time. We had a fruitful conversation before they told me that I wouldn’t fly to Sochi (for the pre-season tournament). Of course, I tried to contribute and help the local youth,” Zherdev said.

The last time Zherdev played in the KHL for Neftekhimik and Dynamo Riga was in the 2017/18 season. In total, the striker played 408 league matches, in which he scored 232 (79+153) points. Previously, the striker’s clubs were also Atlant, Ak Bars, Spartak, Severstal, Dynamo Moscow, Sochi and Torpedo.

Zherdev, 37, is a double world champion in the Russian team.
