Athletistic / Hockey. Dynamo Minsk forward Vadim Shipachev explained why former Ak Bars head coach Oleg Znarok did not work at the Kazan club. The Olympic champion coached Ak Bars from July to November 2022.
“In my opinion, ‘it didn’t work out’ is not the right word… Before Ak Bars parted ways with Oleg Valerievich, we already started playing normally: we beat SKA, Lokomotiv is a good person, me. I won a lot with him, he is an excellent coach, so everything has always gone well for him,” Shipachev said in the next episode of the show on the Ice YouTube channel.
Oleg Znarok coached HC MVD, Dynamo Moscow, SKA, Spartak and Ak Bars in the KHL. He ranks second among the coaches with the most victories in the history of the KHL (after Zinetula Bilyaletdinov). Znark’s last place of work was the Kazan club, from which he was dismissed in December 2022. With the Russian national team, the coach became the Olympic champion in 2018.
