Malkin hopes KHL will retire Mozyakin’s number 10

Attack Pittsburgh Penguins Yevgeny Malkin expressed hope that the KHL will retire the number 10 under which the retired player played Sergei Mozyakin .

The “Legendary Match of Sergei Mozyakin” took place on Saturday in Magnitogorsk; the teams “Friends of Mozyakin” and “Metallurg” played with a score of 10:10.

“I was really hoping his number would be retired. I hope the league makes a decision like Gretzky’s number was retired in the NHL. I would like to see the top 10 get featured as well,” Malkin said on ‘s “Everyone for the Match!”

Mozyakin is a two-time Gagarin Cup winner with Magnitogorsk, an Olympic champion and a two-time world champion. He has 928 points (419 goals and 509 assists) in 842 KHL regular season and playoff games.
