Athletistic / Hockey. Russian defender and Olympic champion Vyacheslav Voynov called on the KHL to change the rules so that general managers and clubs would bear some responsibility when terminating contracts with players. On July 29, the press service of Kazan Ak Bars reported on the termination of contracts with Vyacheslav Voinov.

“The KHL still has a lot of work to do… It is important that such situations can be avoided in the future, so that general managers and clubs have at least some responsibility. After all, they sign contracts with hockey players that the league needs. to make sure that we did not agree more specifically. But now you can be fired a few days before the start of training camp. And then what is a hockey player to do?

There was a union in the KHL. But for it to be active. There would be correct rules for everyone on how to proceed. Similar situations happen from time to time. I think this is not entirely correct,” Voinov was quoted as saying by Match TV.

Earlier, Stanislav Romanov, Vyacheslav Voinov’s agent, said that his client would continue his career at Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. In the 2023/2024 KHL regular season, Voynov played 40 games and scored 14 (1+13) points for his performance.

As a member of the Russian national team, Vyacheslav Voinov became an Olympic champion in 2018 and four years later won silver at the 2022 Games in Beijing (China). He is also a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Los Angeles Kings.
