Defender Alexei Emelin told how the negotiations on the transition to Minsk “Dynamo” as well as other career options.
The Belarusian club announced the signing of the 36-year-old in July. Prior to that, for the past four seasons, he played for Omsk Avangard.
– First, Dynamo general manager Sergey Sushko called me and asked if I wanted to play in his team. He said anything is possible, I don’t mind, but all other questions to my agent. And they have already started to negotiate. Everything was decided not in one or two days, the negotiations took two weeks,” Emelin told Sport24.
– Could you really go to Spartak or Avtomobilist?
– We talked a lot with Avtomobilist, but we could not find a compromise solution. There were no details from Spartak.
Emelin is a three-time winner of the Gagarin Cup, 2012 world champion in the Russian national team. In the KHL, he played a total of 427 games, scored 125 points (39 goals and 86 assists). In the regular NHL championships in the “Nashville” and “Montreal” he played 456 games, scored 81 points (15 + 66).
