Ak Bars General Director Marat Valiullin praised the newcomer to the Kazan club Alexandra Barabanov who joined the training.

On the arrival of the 30-year-old striker “AK Bars” officially announced on Thursday. The agreement with the hockey player is for two years.

— Alexander is a top-6 (team roster) player with extensive experience in the KHL, NHL and the Russian national team. He is one of the main talents of his generation, at a good age for a hockey player and with healthy ambitions. Barabanov played in the NHL for San Jose and Toronto; in total, during his career in this league, the forward played 206 games and scored 107 (32+75) points. He previously played in the KHL for SKA.

The new KHL season starts on September 3. In the first game of the season on September 5, Ak Bars will face Salavat Yulaev.
