Athletistic / Hockey. Lokomotiv Yaroslavl forward Alexander Radulov spoke about leaving Ak Bars. Moreover, he noted that he could end up in one of the Far Eastern teams.
“Honestly, at one point we considered the option with the Far East, but to be honest, until the last moment I did not enter into any negotiations with anyone, I was happy with everything at Ak Bars. The first season in Kazan was successful, except for the seventh match of the Gagarin Cup final with CSKA, there were leftovers. The next season did not work out either for the team or for me. I did not want to leave Ak Bars on such a note.
In Kazan, everything was at a high level, thanks a lot to the club, but that’s how it happened. They just didn’t extend me; I hit the free agent market. This is normal for a situation like this. “Lokomotiv was one of the first to contact us,” Radulov was quoted as saying by the Championship.
Last season, Alexander Radulov played 62 games for Ak Bars and scored 44 (17+27) points using the goal+assist system. Following the results of the KHL regular season, the Kazan club took fourth place in the Eastern Conference and lost in the first round of the 2024 Gagarin Cup to Avtomobilist (1-4 in the series).
In total, Radulov played 631 matches in the KHL and made 701 (245+456) effective actions. Previously, he played for Salavat Yulaev and CSKA.
