Athletistic / Hockey. SKA forward Evgeny Kuznetsov said he would like to see his former partner, defenseman Dmitry Orlov, at the St. Petersburg club. They played together for the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes.
“I think Orel doesn’t have long to play in the NHL, I think we’ll have him back next year. (Laughs.) It was a joke now. It is always nice to be with Dima, we communicate well with him. He knows the real Zhenya Kuznetsov, who really exists. Orlov is one of the few with whom I can share my thoughts. We are constantly in touch with him. We have already seen him in Russia; he flew away recently. So now it will be a little boring. We are good friends.
In a year I hope he will return to the KHL. This is my wish and that of another person. (Laughs.)” – Match TV quotes Kuznetsov as saying.
On July 31, SKA announced the signing of Evgeniy Kuznetsov to a four-year contract. Prior to that, the 32-year-old Russian played in the NHL for 10 years. In 2018, he helped Washington win the first Stanley Cup in club history.
