Athletistic / Hockey. Defender Steven Kaempfer has signed a contract with Traktor. According to the press service of the Chelyabinsk club, the 35-year-old American signed the agreement, which is valid until May 31, 2025.

Kaempfer was selected by the Anaheim Ducks with the 93rd overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The defenseman never played for the Ducks, as he was traded by the Boston Bruins. He made his NHL debut with the Bears in the 2010/2011 season and immediately became a Stanley Cup winner.

After Boston, Steven Kaempfer managed to play in the NHL for the Minnesota Wild, the Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers. In total, he played 234 NHL games and scored 40 (16+24) points using the goal+assist system.

“Traktor” in the 2023/2024 season reached the semifinals of the Gagarin Cup, where they lost to Yaroslavl “Lokomotiv” (0-4 in the series). In the offseason, the Chelyabinsk team was led by Canadian Benoit Groux.
