“Kunlun” signed contracts with Kvartalnov’s son and eight other hockey players

Beijing Club “Kunlun Red Star” signed contracts with nine players, according to the KHL press office.

Agreements with the strikers Alexander Kvartalnov and Christian Afanasiev are visual in nature.

Forwards Lucas Lockhart, Clifford Poo, Jason Frahm and defender Jake Chelios have signed bilateral contracts, the agreement with the first is designed for three seasons, the rest for one.

Hockey players played for Kunlun in the KHL, Lockhart had 258 games and scored 69 points (34 goals + 35 assists), Chelios had 129 games and 31 points (7 + 24), Frem had 94 games and 27 points (12+15), Pu has 15 games and 6 points (3+3).

Kunlun has also strengthened with goalkeeper Matt Jurasik, defender Vincent Loverde and forward Jack Rodwald. The players signed one-way contracts for two seasons. Loverde is a two-time winner of the Calder Cup – the main trophy of the AHL (American Hockey League).

Alexander Kvartalnov is the son of former Ak Bars head coach Dmitry Kvartalnov. Last season he played 8 games for the Kazan team.

In the 2021/22 season, Kunlun finished last in the Eastern Conference and did not reach the playoffs.
