Athletistic / Hockey. Former Russian national hockey team forward Yevgeny Artyukhin said he is ready to consider proposals to organize a fight under MMA (mixed martial arts) rules. The 41-year-old Russian ended his hockey career two years ago.
“In this case, everything depends on the specific proposal. If it interests me, then I am ready to think about it!” – MMA.Metaratings.ru quotes Artyukhin as saying.
During his career, Evgeniy Artyukhin managed to play for CSKA, SKA, Vityaz, Dynamo Moscow, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks and Atlanta Thrashers. He played for the Russian national team at the 2011 World Cup in Slovakia.
Artyukhin is a powerful forward who has gained wide popularity as one of the brightest tough guys in the history of Russian hockey. On April 24, 2011, during a Euro Hockey Tour match with Finland, Evgeniy Artyukhin got into a fight with three opposing players: Evgeniy knocked down first Mikko Koivu, then Sami Lepistö and Anssi Salmela on the ice.
