The Novosibirsk region will host the Hockey Stars Week in 2025, according to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) website.
On Tuesday, the KHL and the Novosibirsk region government signed an agreement to hold the 2025 Hockey Stars Week in Novosibirsk at the Sibir Arena, which can accommodate more than 10,000 spectators.
— Among the candidates, the league considered other cities in which new arenas have already opened or are set to open in the near future. When choosing a host region for an All-Star weekend, the league evaluates a variety of factors, including the infrastructure of the arena, but also the city itself, logistics to and within the city, availability of hotels for All-Star Game participants and guests, as well as interest from local authorities and the club, the message said.
— It is no secret which cities we are considering as the priority venues for the upcoming Hockey Star Week. We know how much Novosibirsk residents love their team and hockey; the city was waiting for a big hockey holiday. Like everyone else, we were worried when Novosibirsk lost the right to host the World Junior Championship. So now we are happy that we can bring here the best players from two leagues – the KHL and the MHL. We are grateful to the leadership of the Novosibirsk region and personally to Governor Andrei Travnikov for their interest and willingness to host this unique event with us, – said KHL President Alexei Morozov.
The Novosibirsk region will become the seventh region to host the Hockey Stars Week. In 2024, the event was held in St. Petersburg at the SKA Arena. The MHL Challenge Cup will be held on February 1, 2025, and the KHL All-Star Game will be held on February 8-9. Novosibirsk will become the easternmost point where the MHL Challenge Cup and the KHL All-Star Game were held.
