Head Coach “Kunlun » Mikhail Kravets talked about the Chinese club’s selection work.
Last season, Kunlun finished 9th in the KHL Western Conference and failed to reach the playoffs.
— Kunlun had a very good transfer campaign. Was that part of the deal when the contract was signed?
— Yes, we talked with the general director Nikolai Feoktistov about this. Maybe we can’t sign players for big money, but we took experienced ones, those who played with the guys who were there before, some played against.
“We looked at a lot of players and went for those guys who had been consistent in the AHL and NHL. A lot of them played there. Maybe they didn’t take leadership positions there, but they still played. Also, they looked at the guys who went to Europe and played good hockey and were productive,” Kravets told the Championship.
