KHL Chief Referee Alexei Anisimov explained what he thought about the rumors about his resignation.
Last season, information appeared that the official could leave his post. Anisimov has been serving as the KHL’s chief referee since 2016.
— Last season there were rumors about your departure. How did you feel about that?
“If they don’t send me somewhere three or four times or try to fire me, then it will be a very bad year. We have the kind of work that always attracts attention. What are you going to do now? Just do the job honestly and everything will be fine,” Anisimov said, as quoted by RB Sport.
The new season of the Kontinental Hockey League begins on September 3.
