Washington Forward Alexander Ovechkin told that he would not force his children to play hockey professionally.

On Saturday, a gala match took place in Mytishchi as part of the 6th edition of the annual Ovi Cup tournament, held under the patronage of Ovechkin. Ovechkin’s 6-year-old son Sergei came on the ice and scored the first goal of the match.

— So far, Seryozha likes it, he plays hockey almost every day. There is a team, there is a personal coach. Everyone is happy with him. Ilyusha (Ovechkin’s youngest son – ed.) recently put on skates, he also likes it so far, he is gradually getting used to it.

But we don’t force anyone. If they like it, they’ll go up. If not, they’ll do something else,” Ovechkin told .
