Ovechkin, who has played for the Washington Capitals since 2005, ranks second on the NHL’s all-time goalscoring list. The 38-year-old Russian has 853 regular-season goals. To surpass Wayne Gretzky’s record of 894 goals, Alexander must score 41 more.
