HC CSKA coach Vorobiev spoke about his trip to Vancouver

Head coach of CSKA Ilya Vorobyov On , he talked about his journey to the Vancouver Canucks and the differences in attitudes towards the gameplay of the NHL and the KHL.

— I was invited by Vancouver’s general manager, the Swede Patrick Alvin. We had several interesting conversations with him. I was in the coaches’ room, talking with specialists, watching the games, analyzing them. It was a very interesting experience.

— Is this an internship?

– It’s hard to say. It’s more like an invitation from the general director so that we can get acquainted. And our communication has already taken place there. It was long. The general director asked about trips to Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, about how we plan our time.

“We are very close to the NHL in detailing the training and game process. They do better PR. They show more positive sides than negative ones. We look for the negative. Our forward beat two, and they will say that the defenders played badly. They will say that the forward is beautiful,” Vorobiev told .

In the 2023/24 season, the military team led by Sergei Fedorov was eliminated in the first round of the Gagarin Cup, losing to Lokomotiv with a score of 1:4 in the series. Before that, CSKA had become champions two seasons in a row. At the end of March, it was announced that Vorobiev would lead the team from the new season.

The new season of the FONBET KHL Championship starts on September 3.
