Russian attacker Vladimir Tarasenko will speak for Detroit Red Wings No. 11, reports the NHL club’s press service.
Tarasenko signed a two-year contract with Detroit this summer. Last season, the hockey player won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers, and in 2019 he won the trophy with the St. Louis Blues.
The No. 10, which Tarasenko wore with Florida, was retired by Detroit, and the No. 91, which Tarasenko wore with St. Louis, has not been worn by the Red Wings since 2003. The team was played by Russian Sergei Fedorov.
The new NHL season begins on October 4.
